Since we switched on our Apple Macs in December 2004 we have come a long way. The team has grown from just a one-man-band, to a highly skilled, professional and passionate team. Along the way we have had the pleasure of designing and developing websites for a multitude of fascinating businesses; from Steak Restaurants to curry houses, from event management companies to military charities. Our approach is simple, we are looking to create long term working relationships with our clients. The more we can help you, the happier you are with us and the more likely you are to chat to your friends about the excellent service you have received from us. Maybe, just maybe we will also get some referral business.
One of our more recognisable clients is Help for Heroes. The charity started off in October 2007 where we were recruited to build a small website for a charity bike ride. They wanted to raise £50,000 to help the blokes. Since that time, the charity has become a huge success story and one of the most recognisable brands in the uk. It has been quite a journey for our team also. Lots of late and sleepless nights, designing this and developing that.
To think it has grown from a start-up charity and reached the monumental achievement of raising £115M in just 4 years is incredible and we are honored to have played our small part in in this achievement. Their websites (both Charity and the Online Shop) are one of the main methods of supporter interaction and play a large role in the charity’s fundraising activities.
Along the way we have built up a wealth of experience and knowledge ranging from developing brands and corporate identities, perfecting our wordcraft by developing clever and persuasive copy, planning and executing SEO strategies and SEM campaigns that deliver results and developing and designing websites that invite and convert visitors. In short we live, breathe, eat, drink and sleep in the WWW – doesn’t that sound like the sort of team you want to work with?

Ben Hewson – Managing Director
I started ICUK in 2004 and have seen it grow from a one-man-band to a thriving business, with a growing list of satisfied clients and a team of skilled employees who are passionate about their jobs.
Sarah Axford – Creative Director
I am involved in all creative aspects of the company, from heading up the web team to designing and project management. Our flexibility means everyone has an input into the evolution of our business.
Tony Venn – Account Manager
I love problem solving and as an Account Manager there is plenty of scope for that. Clients, technology and campaigns present new challenges every day especially in the fast paced world of the Internet.
Amy Hayes – E-commerce Specialist
I started in development when I was 18 and after that I was hooked, so working at ICUK is like a dream come true. The team have such high expectations of themselves, which makes for a very satisfying environment.
Kenn Smith – Web Developer
I learnt XHTML, JAVA and Human Computer Interaction at university before joining ICUK in June 2009. I work on both the web and e-commerce teams, pursuing a career that excites and challenges me everyday.
Steve Robinson – Technical Support
I have worked as an IT Consultant throughout my career and joined ICUK to work with bigger and better clients. The variety of businesses we support means that no day is the same; we have to keep focusing on new strategies.
Charlotte Gunnell – Copywriter
My job at ICUK allows me to combine my love of writing and my passion for designing, and I can honestly say I couldn’t have found a more perfect role: combining my creative flair with practical knowledge.
Roy Goddard – Senior Developer
Roy is an accomplished business analyst and has an engineering background that gives his development work strength in the rigour applied to the design and the economy of arriving at a fit for purpose solution.
Helen Axford – Office Manager
I came to ICUK two years ago after teaching and in the past I have set up and run offices abroad. This has given me a grounding for working for ICUK, which incorporates so many walks of life and a varied client base.
Craig Parks- Financial Administration
Craig joined ICUK in 2010 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his financial services background, Craig ensures that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.
Kat Axford – Office Assistant
I started work at ICUK while doing my A-Levels, and enjoyed it so much I’ve stayed here ever since. I even took part in a sponsored walk across the Isle of Wight to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Alex Jin – Developer
Alex is our platforms specialist and has 10 years experience working with both CMS and eCommerce platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento and Interspire / Bigcommerce.
Daniel Longreed – Senior Developer
Daniel is a specialist in XHTML, CSS, Web Standards and compliance. He has worked on many high profile sites ensuring that they are optimised for speed and efficiency and meet all requirements of web browsers.
Joe Houghton – Graphic Designer
At the heart of our branding and logo design services is Joe Houghton. From innovative logos to web page design, Joe can produce designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and at the same time functional.
